One day 8th graders are working on their acrylic painting project, on flat canvas. This will not be due until after this marking period ends. The printmaking project is due for grading.

6th graders will continue/complete their scratchboard Greek vase project, and turn in for grading.
Square 1 items have arrived and will be distributed this week.
Students have completed their continuous line paintings and turned them in for a project grade. We will continue working on the Greek vase etchings.
GRAPHICS STUDENTS WILL CONTINUE TO WORK ON ORIGINAL YEARBOOK PAGES AND TURN IN FOR A PROJECT GRADE.
Advanced students should have turned in their Reflections entries at this point. Anything not already turned in will be considered late, and points will be deducted. SIGNED FORMS FOR THE ARTWORK SHOULD BE BROUGHT IN THE FIRST DAY OF ART THIS WEEK.
We will begin our next project, which is a still life, with sessions on drawing symmetrical objects, blocking in, and additional shading techniques.
Enriched 6th grade students will continue working on Square 1 project. Poster board should be brought in (available in school store for $1) in order to make individual portfolios.
Required supplies have been received. If students need to purchase any of the items on the list, they may do so this week.
Because of the holiday last week, no sketchbook was assigned. Assignment this week: DRAW A KITCHEN UTENSIL. SKETCHBOOK IS DUE ONE WEEK FROM DATE ASSIGNED!
Advanced students should bring in posterboard in order to create individual portfolios. All artwork will be stored in student portfolios.
The graphic arts class will start by designing a brochure for a new program to be instituted this year at Schilling Farms. We will be doing layouts, working with different types of texts, and many other areas relating to graphics. We will also work on the yearbook as part of our curriculum.
This is a one day a week class, and current assignments will be listed here for your reference.
