The Enriched 6th graders are continuing their auction paintings, which are due the last week of this month. Anyone wishing to come in early before school simply needs to let me know – I am available from 7:20 each morning.
Advanced students will continue their Art Auction paintings. The 12X12 canvases are being provided by the school and will be auctioned off beginning March 31.
Students are working on their auction paintings. They should have either brought in a color image from which to work, or should have chosen one from the art room. They are working on 12X12 canvases, and painting in acrylic.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT STUDENTS HAVE ALL THEIR PAINTING SUPPLIES EACH DAY – THAT INCLUDES PAINTBRUSHES, PALETTES, AND PAINT SHIRT!
Enriched 6th graders will begin their Impressionistic project, re-creating a famous artwork of their choice. The medium will be oil pastels on colored tag.
Sketchbook assignment: two shoes stacked on each other
Students have completed their “Zoom in, zoom out” project, and have turned in for grading.
The new project will begin this week, and is based on Impressionism. We will view a powerpoint presentation as a lead-in to the project.
Sketchbook: Holiday related drawing of your choice.
Students will continue Zoom in Zoom Out project.
Square 1 magnets have been sent home. If you wish to place an order, which will arrive in time for the Holidays, please send in the order by 11/14.
ENRICHED 6TH GRADERS WILL CONTINUE WORKING ON THE “ZOOM IN ZOOM OUT” TEXTURE DRAWINGS.
SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENT FOR 10/27: DRAW SOMETHING THAT FLOATS (EBONY).
Enriched 6th graders will continue the project emphasizing texture. In lieu of a sketchbook assignment, they are to choose a small object from nature with great texture. It should be small enough to fit into the palm of a hand, and stay in its same physical state for an extended period of time. Bring to class on Monday!
Enriched 6th graders have taken their Square 1 artwork home as homework, to be returned ASAP (next Monday at the latest).
There is no sketchbook this week because of the above-mentioned homework; however, the students are to search for an object outdoors with plenty of texture to bring to class next week for the new project.
Enriched 6th graders will finish Square 1 and turn in for grading. Sketchbooks will be presented. Current assignment due: Ebony pencil sketch of an idea for the Fire Safety Poster contest (Prevent Home Fires). The sketchbook due next week is: Draw three kitchen utensils (Ebony pencil).
