WEEK OF 9/15-9/19

Students will spend this week completing their entries for the PTSA Reflections contest (theme: WOW!).  Those finishing early may spend time decorating their portfolios if they have not already done so.

Sketchbook assignment due this week:  Choice of sketch for the Fire Safety Poster contest (Prevent Home Fires OR idea for the yearbook cover.  Ebony pencil.

Sketchbook due next week:  Draw a profile of a head (Ebony pencil).

Square 1 project is due and should be turned on for grading.  Continue working on PTSA Reflections Contest project (theme is WOW!)

Poster board for individual portfolios due.

All required supplies have been received and orders will be filled this week.  Students must have container for the supplies (a zip-lock bag is fine).

The first sketchbook assignment will be given this week, and will be due the following week.

All classes, with the exception of the Graphics classes, will continue working the Square 1 project.  Graphics classes are working on designing a club brochure, via computer.  We will also create and include original art within the designs.

The Advanced 7th and 8th classes will begin the Reflections Contest pre-sketches upon completion of Square 1.  The theme is “Wow”.

Supplies ordered by the Advanced students have not yet arrived, but are expected sometime next week.  You may pay the entire $30.47 amount, or order just the items that are needed.

WEEK OF MAY 11, 2008

Enriched 6th, Advanced 7th, and Advanced 8th grade art classes will receive their supply lists the first day they attend art class.  ALL supplies will be available in the school store; everything, with the exception of the paint palettes, sketchbooks, and canvases is now in stock.

Our first project will be Square 1, and will take approximately three to four class periods.

Sketchbook assignments will be posted here, as well as assignments, and anything to be brought from home.
