8th graders will continue the gesture drawing project started the previous week. They have learned to sketch by looking at live models while using the gesture method, and will move into choosing their favorite drawings to create the finished piece.
7th graders will continue working on the hand project based on the work of M.C. Escher. They are learning to block in the human hand, using basic geometric shapes, and will learn various shading techniques as well.
Graphics students will continue working on the chosen pages of the yearbook. They are creating original art as lead-in pages for various sections of photographs.
Enriched 6th graders will continue the project emphasizing texture. In lieu of a sketchbook assignment, they are to choose a small object from nature with great texture. It should be small enough to fit into the palm of a hand, and stay in its same physical state for an extended period of time. Bring to class on Monday!
